“Forces beyond your control can take away everything you possess except for one thing, your freedom to choose how you will respond to the situation.” - Viktor Frankl
If you are reading this it means that you are one step closer to getting the help you need, and one step closer to feeling empowered, supported, relieved, and on a positive path to your goals, growth and well-being. Choosing to reach out and ask for help is the hardest part and takes a lot of guts to do. We all can use some support, "tune up" and guidance now and then, and finding the right therapist you have a good chemistry with is important.
My clients describe me as a compassionate, warm, optimistic, energetic, honest and down to earth therapist. Having a genuine authentic relationship with my clients is an important part of a successful treatment as well as providing my clients with a supportive, safe, nonjudgmental and nurturing environment where we can work collaboratively towards your goals. I would like to help you to better deal with the difficult situations/struggles you are currently experiencing; heal from painful experiences, rediscover your strengths; get unstuck in the web of maladaptive/paralyzing thought patterns, beliefs, habits, perceptions and behaviors that no longer work for you; provide you with effective and easy to use tools to help you better cope with new challenges, regain your balance, make better choices, uncover your true potential and lead a life that is worth celebrating.
I work successfully with a wide range of emotional and behavioral issues and experienced whelping people of diverse ages, cultures, languages and backgrounds. I help individuals and couples with anxiety, relationship issues, low self esteem, depression, life transitions, grief/loss, parenting struggles, couples and marriage issues (using Gottman and EFT methods), adolescents' counseling, in a non judgmental, comfortable, compassionate, safe and supportive atmosphere. I offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each of my clients' individual needs to help them attain the personal goals and growth they’re striving for.
I draw from a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) mixed with a wide variety of theories and techniques, which are result-driven, research or evidence based, strengths based and are highly efficient in treating short term or long-term issues. I work with individuals (adults, young adults and adolescents) and couples. I am a Gottman trained couples therapist and highly recommend his results driven approach based on 40 years of research of real couples. I also have training in the EFT ( Emotionally Focused Therapy method) which has been helpful to many couples and individuals in reconnecting with their feelings and longings and expressing them and their needs and desires in a non threatening ways to their partners, which in turn helps them better understand and connect with each other and leads to more intimate and loving relationship.
While we can't change difficult situations or people around us, we do have a choice of how we cope, how we perceive, feel, interpret and react in these situations and to these people; we have a choice of ridding ourselves of suffering, anger, negativity, anxiety, fears, pain, guilt and shame. By learning to better understand yourself, using different approaches and techniques, together we will unearth long-standing patterns or perceptions that may be holding you back from experiencing a more fulfilling and meaningful life.
